Simply tranquil

This new painting brings back the serene feeling of standing under the aurora on a still evening and listening to see if you can actually hear the dancing lights in the sky.

Summer dreams in Queen Anne’s Lace

There is something about Queen Anne’s Lace that brings back memories of childhood hot summer days that seemed to stretch far longer than the length of the school break. This painting has a dreamy quality of wildflowers moving in the warm breeze. It’s a new addition and available at Windsor’s Courtyard in Merrickville, Ontario.

Little Originals add a big punch of colour

Getting warmed up for the Tulip Festival

I’m trying to shift gears for spring and feel like it should be warm out already. So I forced the issue a little with this crazy tulip painting. It’s a little all over the place and has the energy of ” I can’t wait for spring”. Â This one is a warm up for me, a study to see what works and colour combinations. Â Okay, next one should be a little calmer.
Rustic Winter Original

This is a large canvas with a quiet palette but a lot of interest and subtle details. It’s rich in texture and glazing in the underpainting.
Sweet Aurora Paintings

trying to get it right
Below are three images of the same painting. I thought it was “done” a couple of times but something wasn’t sitting right with me and I gave it another go. Now it has the richness and depth that comes with layers, glazing, Â pouring and all of that good stuff.
Sunlight puts a little spring in your step
A little sunshine can do a world of good. Looking forward to warmer breezes as the days stretch toward Spring. In the meantime I’m breaking out the cheerful palette and whimsical style. The sparse and hazy florals I like for their moody rain washed look. The painting directly above reminds me of groovy days of flower power.
