River paintings

Three new paintings have been completed in my River series. I’m trying to capture the drifty weightless feeling of floating in a kayak on deep moving water. Such proximity to the river gives one the chance to get a little lost in the swirling surface in all it’s light effect glory. New works can be seen at Fiona Macintyre Design Studio, 330 Main Street E, Merrickville On.

Simply tranquil

This new painting brings back the serene feeling of standing under the aurora on a still evening and listening to see if you can actually hear the dancing lights in the sky.

Summer dreams in Queen Anne’s Lace

There is something about Queen Anne’s Lace that brings back memories of childhood hot summer days that seemed to stretch far longer than the length of the school break. This painting has a dreamy quality of wildflowers moving in the warm breeze. It’s a new addition and available at Windsor’s Courtyard in Merrickville, Ontario.

Getting warmed up for the Tulip Festival

C’mon Spring!

I’m trying to shift gears for spring and feel like it should be warm out already. So I forced the issue a little with this crazy tulip painting. It’s a little all over the place and has the energy of ” I can’t wait for spring”.  This one is a warm up for me, a study to see what works and colour combinations.  Okay, next one should be a little calmer.
