Little Aurora Paintings

I’ve been painting away on a new little grouping of northern landscapes. I hope to have them ready to show soon. A small grouping of tree paintings and the new maple leaf design are en route to Yellowknife. They should be arriving at Visual Effects in a few days.

Strolling Merrickville

Today was one of those perfect fall days for a stroll through Merrickville, Ontario. My mugging son and I walked along the canal, soaked in a little sun and checked out the local scenery. There is still lots of green in the grass and colour in the trees. img_5653

Scenes from the North

I wanted to share some of the photos I’ve taken over the last year or so since we’ve moved to Yellowknife. I’m picking out some that are unique to the north and make this such an interesting and wonderful place to live.

Keeping warm in the North

I’m working on a painting of a tree bursting with warm fall colours of burned red, gold and umber. It feels like -33 C with the wind chill here in Yellowknife and today there is no place I’d rather be than inside. I’m feeling some big artistic changes coming and I’m going to take this long winter of ours to explore a new creative direction. With some experimentation and hopefully interesting growth over the next few months, I’ll be ready to welcome Spring with a fresh offering of original art.Image

A new painting of falling leaves. I’m looking forward to participating in a couple of art shows coming up. The Anonymous Art Show is on at Down to Earth Gallery, Yellowknife from Oct 30 – Nov 1 and Freeze-Up will be happening Nov 15 at the Tree of Peace Friendship Centre also in Yellowknife.
