revealing the painting early this morning…
This bold bright tree is called “Find the Time” and is the new arrival at Windsor’s Courtyard in Merrickville. It’s an original acrylic and high gloss resin painting on a 48 x 36 cradled wood panel. Check out the shop and courtyard for beautiful gifts and treasures for your home and garden.
I have a small series of six new original Queen Anne’s Lace ready for the final touch- the high gloss coat that pops the colour and adds protective layer to the art work. Coming soon to Windsor’s Courtyard in Merrickville, Ontario.
When you are visiting the beautiful village of Merrickville Ontario be sure to stop into Windsor’s Courtyard located at 211 St. Lawrence Street. Windsor’s Courtyard is a sophisticated garden and home decor store and now includes my original artwork! http://www.windsorscourtyard.ca
This is a large canvas with a quiet palette but a lot of interest and subtle details. It’s rich in texture and glazing in the underpainting.
Below are three images of the same painting. I thought it was “done” a couple of times but something wasn’t sitting right with me and I gave it another go. Now it has the richness and depth that comes with layers, glazing, pouring and all of that good stuff.
It was a quiet day full of Charlie Brown snowflakes and I felt like painting what I saw out my window. Lovely hazy trees in the distance and soft snow falling. There is one tree that stands out from the rest, tall and twisted. It has it’s own thing happening and may not be conventionally beautiful but there is room for all.
A little sunshine can do a world of good. Looking forward to warmer breezes as the days stretch toward Spring. In the meantime I’m breaking out the cheerful palette and whimsical style. The sparse and hazy florals I like for their moody rain washed look. The painting directly above reminds me of groovy days of flower power.
